China Southern Power Grid Inks Major Sponsorship With The 16th Asian Games

June 10 2009

The 16th Asian Games (www.gz2010.cn/en), part of the worldwide Olympic movement and governed by the Olympic Council of Asia is pleased to announce that China Southern Power Grid Co. Ltd. has signed on as a Prestige Partner for the 2010 Games.

The Prestige Partner signing of China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (http://eng.csg.cn/index.html) comes on the heels of China Mobile’s joining the elite level of sponsorships of these Games last May.

As a Prestige Partner for The 16th Asian Games, CSG will be dedicated to providing stable electricity supplies and green power services for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.

One of two state-owned power grid companies in China, CSG (formed in 2002) invests, constructs and operates transmission and distribution networks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Hainan provinces and regions.

In the first half of 2008, CSG sold 232 TWh of electricity and the company’s 2008 half year revenue was $19 Billion USD with total assets worth $50 Billion (by the end of August 2008).
